Every student at College View Elementary attends Spanish class each week. Preschool students have Spanish class once a week for 20 minutes each session. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade come to Spanish twice a week for 30 minutes each session.
Listed on each grade level page is the vocabulary that the students have been learning in class. Spanish uses the Latin-derived alphabet (the same alphabet that English uses), but the letters make a different sound in Spanish. This can be very challenging for practicing vocabulary with your student. If you are planning on practicing spoken vocabulary with your student, do not hesitate to use an online dictionary like SpanishDict that has a speaking option available. This is an external site that is in no way associated with the Council Bluffs Community School District. SpanishDict and other dictionary sites may have advertisements, parent supervision is recommended.
How to use SPANISHDICT to help with pronunciation.
Begin by typing the vocabulary word into the box in either English or Spanish. If you are typing the

Now the word is written in both Spanish and English. Click on the speaker symbol that is directly behind the word in Spanish. Your electronic device will say the word using correct Spanish pronunciation.
